Geordan L. Capes is a Senior Vice President at The Northern Trust Company, Chicago. He is Head of Online Services for Corporate & Institutional Services, which includes the consulting teams as well as the product development group supporting Northern Trust's proprietary online system, Passport. Geordan and his teams support relationship and sales personnel by developing customized solutions that utilize the latest technology and processes. In addition, he also has responsibility for the New Business Consulting team which focuses on surrounding new client transitions.

Prior to joining C&IS, Geordan was on assignment in our London office, managing the Global Derivative Operations department of Worldwide Operations and Technology. As part of this assignment, his team was focused on increasing productivity and straight through processing in a rapidly expanding industry. From 2002 to 2005, Geordan was the Department Head and General Manager for the Benefit Payment Services Department. His area of responsibility included all Operating areas, as well as the Technology organization that supports Benefit Payments.

Geordan began his career at Northern Trust in Benefit Payments as a Client Service Representative in 1991. Subsequent positions included process redesign work, consulting and training clients on the online products, new business transition services and sales presentations, and managing the online development efforts for the department. Geordan was named Department Head in 2003 and General Manager in 2004.
