Senior Vice President, Head of North American Client Service

George B. Trapp is a Senior Vice President at The Northern Trust Company, Chicago. George acts as a Senior Relationship Manager for Northern Trust's securities lending business in North America. He is responsible for ensuring that Global Securities Lending clients receive quality and coordinated services from our operations, trading and investment areas. George also leads sales and marketing efforts across the global securities lending group and a member of the securities lending management team.

George has over 20 years of experience in the securities lending industry at Northern Trust. Over his 20 year career George has held positions in trading, product development, client servicing and management for the securities lending group. Additionally George has worked in the Chicago, London and Hong Kong offices. Prior to his current position George was regional manager for Asian securities lending. Based in Hong Kong, George's responsibilities included addressing and evaluating securities lending initiatives for lenders and borrowers where Northern Trust as as an agent lender in the Asia Pacific region.

George received a B.A. degree in economics from Denison University, Ohio and is an M.B.A. degree with concentrations in marketing, finance, and management strategy from J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He holds NASD Series 7 & 63 Securities Licenses.

George is a Board member of the Trustees of the Frank J.R. Mitchell Scroll Endowment Fund.

David Lester is a Vice President at Northern Trust Global Advisors. Based in the Toronto office, David leads the asset management sales effort at Northern Trust in Canada. With a focus on providing innovative investment and outsourcing solutions to the marketplace, David will be working closely with pension plan sponsors, charitable organizations, and other institutional investors. David started his investment career in 1996 with a retail mutual fund company. Prior to joining Northern Trust, David spent 12 years at SEI, most recently as the Director of National Accounts where he lead the firm’s institutional sales and marketing efforts.

David has authored a range of articles on pension-related topics in addition to speaking at industry conferences. He is a past chair of the Ontario Regional Council of the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute and is a member of the Toronto CFA Society.

David holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University where he was awarded the British Association Medal for Great Distinction. David graduated from INSEAD in Fontainebleau France with distinction, where he received a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

Director of Global Fixed Income

David is responsible for the management of global fixed income and is based in our London office. Fund structures range from single currency short duration mandates to multi currency long duration global government bond funds both active and passive.

After graduating in 1999 with a Master of Physics degree David worked for three years as a Gilt Repo trader and short duration Portfolio Manager for HMT UK Debt Management Office.

David joined Northern Trust in January 2003 as a Portfolio Manager covering the USD and Euro books for Securities Lending cash re-investment and was appointed senior Portfolio Manager in 2007.
